Everything
began in winter 2002, when four guys joined in order to tidy a small stable.
In March that year they started practising. Their style was rather blurry
and not much clear. They played HC, but in a more aggressive way. In December
they moved to another garage. One month later Jordi (drums) decided to
leave the band and Javi replaced him. At this point OUTBREAK appeared with
its first stable members: Javi (drums), Jose(bass), Xevi (guitar) and William
(vocals).
They spent several months in the garage practising and creating new themes,
their style being influenced by bands such as Hatebreed, Madball, Born
From Pain…
Their first concert took place in winter that year and in 2004 they started
playing with other groups of the HC scene like Death Knell of Gaia, Stocholm
Syndrome, Sequoia, Anal Hard, 25 ta Life and Settle the Score. In November
the band wanted to record some themes, but Javi and Jose decided to give
the band up due to their different aims. Therefore, all 18 themes fell
into oblivion.
However, Xevi and William began they search for new band members, and they
soon met a new drummer (Homero) and a second guitar player (Miguel). Thus,
a bass player was the only missing piece in their puzzle.This meant the
birth of HUMAN ASHTRAY. Their style was slightly far from HC and had been
influenced by bands like The Black Dalia Murder, All Shall Perish, Heaven
Shall Burn…
After some months they had composed a repertoire made up of 8 new themes.
In September 2005 they stroke back ( with Victor C as the provisional bass
player). They also played with bands such as Hoods, Berri Txarrak, Manhunt…
Finally, in November Martí started playing the bass guitar and joined
the band.
2006: Human Ashtray frequently played in Catalonia together with Blindsight,
Age of Ruin, Shattered Realm, Path of No Return and took part in the HFMN
Fest, where their name appeared next to other bands like Cro-Mags, Death
Before Dishonour and Bold among many others. Nevertheless, when it seemed
that the whole clockwork was about to start working properly Homero and
Miguel left the band after several quarrels within the group. This entailed
looking for a drummer once more.
Ciri, the former Manhunt guitar player and Infecto Cadaver drummer started
practising with the band in June. With very clear ideas, Human Ashtray
practised non-stop for a whole year. After testing several guitarists they
decided to keep on their way with just a single guitar player.
In February 2007, they got into Costa Roja studios in order to record their
first reference “THE HATE REBIRTH”, which was brought out by
DEATHWISHTEAM, a record company from Girona.
The album was published about the middle of July, and after playing their
first concerts with 20 Inch Burial, Heatbreak Kid, Mutalfest… during
2007Human Ashtray present their work to the public sharing stage with bands
as Dying Fetus, Neaera, Pro-pain..., and played in many places as París,
Bilbao, Valencia, Barcelona, Zaragoza.... They are booking dates for 2008
in Europe and Spain. Afterwards, time and their effort will tell us how
far they reach.
