Athanator is an aggressive, four piece Thrash Metal Band from Medellín, Colombia. It as funded in 1989 making two Demo -Tapes and one 7" EP. The band stopped working in 1995 due to problems between some members being Re-assembled on January 1999.
At this stage they record a CD with 10 songs called "Raise the Death"(2000) and tribute to slayer titled "Raise the Slaugther" (2002). They have been in many shows around the country catching fans and having alternate concerts together at legendary German act, like Destruction among others.
These four members from different backgrounds, joined together to create and interesting sound, band and brotherhood emphasing explicit lyrics and words that coming from their vivencies, as well as inspiration from their nightmares. Putting together various musical influences, they have weaved their way into the Thrash metal music scene. Their fan friendly off - stage manner to their psycho high-
