Founded
on the powerful compositions of guitarist Ben Asaro, Twilight Odyssey is
rapidly emerging as one of metal’s most promising new bands, earning
praise from fans and industry alike.
While working in a
band known as “Urshurak”, Ben and drummer Sal Pellerito came
across lead vocalist Pamela “P.J.” Berlinghof. Pamela and Ben
rapidly developed a prolific writing partnership producing material that
incorporated their classic metal influences along with the more challenging
elements of progressive music. Soon after, guitarist Dan Castro and bassist
Gennady Khirich stepped in to complete the line-up. With a full crew, a
clearly defined sound, and a new lease on life they decided to ride the
winds of change and officially adopted the name Twilight Odyssey. They
made their debut opening for Angra at the world famous L’amour in
November of 2002. The band first garnered attention with a short sampling
of rehearsal tracks known as “The Sorcerer Sessions” and a
full production demo released in 2003. Dan Castro left the band in 2004.
Second guitar duties for live performances are currently being handled
by Mike Levak.
Twilight Odyssey has
performed with such well-known acts as Jag Panzer, Trouble, Testament,
October 31, Symphony X, Blaze, Overkill, Savatage, Angra, and Nightwish,
has been featured in magazines like Rock Brigade, Progression, Snakepit,
Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, Rock Hard, and Metal Maidens and is
currently receiving radio play in over 25 countries. In addition, T.O.
has also been at the core of New York’s “United in Metal”
tour and has participated in “UIM” shows with bands such as
Zandelle, Gothic Knights, Magus Beast, and Overlorde.
The band made debut
appearances at March Metal Meltdown V, Classic Metal Fest III, and Metal
Mind Rage 2 and drew over 200,000 unique users to their independent web
site in 2004. In the immediate future, T.O. will continue to make live
appearances in the States and will be releasing a debut album.
Combining the melodic
dual guitar work of bands like Iron Maiden and the progressive elements
of bands such as Fates Warning with powerful female vocals, Twilight Odyssey
is what “Classic Metal” is all about.
